Scomposea is a collection of fashion accessories made from SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), a composition to transforms kombucha into eco-friendly & biodegradable leather-like.
Nowdays, textile waste is the one of non-biodegradable materials that causes problems in environment. For solved the problem, many studies have been carried out to find a new materials that are more biodegradable and environtmentally-friendly. The development of this research is carried out through several technologies such as biotechnology which can produce regenereation of cellulose from bacteria known as microbial-cellulose. One of microbial-cellulose such SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteri and Yeast), is still ongoing developed to be produced into environmentally friendly and biodegradable textile material.
